grass doesn't grow under my feet

So grass doesn't grow under my feet
at least I didn't think so 'till I came inside tonight ...
I decided to give the new lawn mower a run - and took care of shortening the lawn on the front of the house at the same time ...
Then I also decided to dig around some of the dirt in the front and put a few plants in that I had bought today - since it's our first summer here I'm still unsure of what will take place in the flower beds - I don't really know what was there to start with - and don't know how much of it will be coming back again all on it's own. As it stands now there's a few things peeking through - but there also seems to be some empty spots ... so - with that said - I'm going to attempt and make some of the empty spots look not-so-empty. Mind you - I don't intend on making it quite as full as it was when we viewed the house last summer and 'signed the papers' ... but I'll do my best to make it look like the place is lived in etc. Now is when I miss paying condo fees and having this sort of thing taken care of. So there you have it - I'm off and running - totally out of my comfort zone!

I thought this was a good step to gardening - I was half tempted to leave them here and see how they'd turn out at the end of the summer
- but I thought again and realized that the car would soon get too hot.

	something that's growing all on its own - I can take NO credit for this

these might need some prayer for their survival!

We also decided to go across to the 'other side' ... wasn't sure what we'd come up with - weren't there for too long - long enough to get a few pics though ...

spring has sprung

Today was a day of errands and fun in the sun. A day to take advantage of the nice spring weather that has sprung on us. First Scott put together our bbq that we bought last night ... I went to the grocery store (so we'd have something to test the bbq with) ... Scott cleaned his car out ... I cleaned the bit of patio furniture that we have and SOME of the rav ...

THEN some visitors showed up ... we hung out in the back yard for a while 'til it was supper time ... good times were had I do believe ... I managed to shoot 185 pics today ... so I'll share some ...

So a week ago - I decided to try and track some friends down during their trip to safeway ... as you can tell - a little fun was being had when I showed up on the scene. It's odd - but I don't remember this sort of luxury when I was a kid and grocery shopping with my folks!
